In the centre of the city they’ve preserved Abraham Lincoln’s house and neighbouring houses in a pedestrianised street.
The Lincoln House
There’s a whole street more of these but it doesn’t make for very exciting photos really!
They are just round the corner from the old statehouse. This is different to the current one in previous posts which you can see peeping through between the buildings.
Waking down the street is an interesting diversion. One does wonder if the houses were preserved like this or merely rebuilt later as a bit of a history project. Nevertheless pleasant to see for 10 minutes before it’s too hot to stand around outside any more!
All in all Springfield is a lovely quiet city that feels like so many places you see in TV shows etc. Or as Tom says, Main Street at Disneyland!
